Career Services offers multiple services including counseling, job fairs, networking events, access to the PantherTRACS job search engine designed exclusively for Pitt students and alumni and many other resources.
How can I make the search engine find the exact phrase I list in the job description field?
To use exact phrases you will need to put the phrase in double quotes, e.g. “Arts Management” See “What should I use for keywords?” for more examples.
Why was launched?
We started with a simple proposition. We wanted to create a service where jobseekers could get the hassle-free convenience of searching for Australia’s jobs all in one place. The benefit to businesses, recruiters and job boards is that their job ads are also found more readily by jobseekers. We think everyone wins ? and more importantly, it is a free service to users.
What do I do after I am hired?
Once hired by a WTAMU department, you MUST come by Student Employment Services to fill out employment paperwork. You must bring provide proof of employment eligibility. It is illegal and a liability for you to work without completing this paperwork. If you are an international student, additional documentation is needed. WTAMU is an equal opportunity employer and will consider all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability or national origin.
How can I find companies that are looking for interns?
There are a variety of ways. The best first step is to check the website. You can also search for internships on job search engines or by going to a regular search engine and typing in key words like public relations internship. Feel free to see Ric Smith anytime for help. The program is designed for you to develop your own internship. We want you to gain a little job finding experience for that job search youll do when you graduate.Jobseekers may search by location, discipline (specialisation/industry) and work type (full-time/part-time, casual, contractor). Jobseekers may use the Quick Search feature and later narrow their search using the Advanced Search filter. Jobseekers may filter search results by choosing jobs from specified job boards and websites most relevant to them.
Will my information be private and safe?
Jobseekers may use the search engine anonymously without being identified. For those registering their profile, their name and email address will be captured so they may retrieve up-to-date content matching their job preferences. Our e-newsletter will be distributed periodically to registered users to provide information to them of general interest and/or specific job information.Advertisers have the benefit of being exposed to a growing number of users on the site each day.
