Effects of bullying and schools
It’s a problem that’s been around since the beginning of time. I don’t care what era or generation you come from, chances are you came across a bully. It’s almost like grade schools and high schools cannot be complete without at least one. Can you recall the bully you encountered back in the day? I sure can. At the young age of 13, I had just moved to a new area, and started in a new middle school. It took only a few days before some random 14 year old punched me. And I mean he literally socked me right in the jaw, while I was minding my own business, standing in the gym after lunch. I never even saw it coming. So, how do we prevent such occurrences from taking place? Maybe with a few lectures and bullying articles while we are still very young. It certainly pays to instruct our kids early on.

teaching research
When I first began my teacher training, I had a pretty easy idea of what the job was going to entail. I had never even thought of such issues as teaching research before. For me, teaching seemed like a easy and straightforward affair. I had been explaining math to my younger brother for several years, and if I could help him out why couldn’t I help out a classroom full of students? What I learned in my teaching school both surprised and fascinated me. Teaching was much harder than I had thought, but it was also more rewarding for the work that I had to put into it. It wasn’t a simple matter of explaining the subject matter that I had mastered. If teaching was that simple, anyone could instruct! Instead, teaching involves the mastery of a great many strategies to help different students learn.

student loan information
I know that it is important to keep your federal (or government given) personal data such as your social security number private. It has always bothered me that many student loan companies use your number as your account number. I always make sure I shred any paperwork with my number on it, but it would seem in some cases that this is out of my hands. My husband and I combined our loans, and we keep getting letters from companies offering us a superior deal on our interest rate. It bothers me that they have the ability to so easily get our student loan information, and that our social security numbers are appearing on what we consider to be junk mail.

student loan company
tWorking for a student loan company is quite a racket. Think about it. The students come to you when they’re just out of high school. They are fresh-faced, idealistic, and quite naïve. They get student loans without any thought of how they will repay them. They go off to school, spend four years partying and occasionally studying, and get out into the business world. It is then when the student loans Company strikes.

higher education california sunny
I had not planned on going on to get a graduate degree. Living in California higher education was not on the top of my list of priorities. You see, there are so many opportunities in California even if you don’t have a higher education. There’s Hollywood, there’s the environmental non profit community, there are opportunities for starting your own tourism business, high-tech business, or restaurant. California really is the land of opportunity, So I had no intention of spending all of my time cooped up in school.

Another Segment From Our Guest Writers’ Series….
When I first took up art, I never dreamed that I would one day get a fashion design degree. Fashion design colleges, you see, were not for me. I was into art for art’s sake. I didn’t want to get involved in fashion design and merchandising because I wasn’t interested in the commercial elements of it. I was vaguely aware that I would have to earn money with my degree somehow or another, but I always figured that I would be discovered and then be able to sell my art.
Fashion Design College

Going to fashion design college was furthest from my mind because it was so focused on applying your skills to make money. Fashion isn’t really very expressive. People try to express themselves through their clothes, but I did not think much of it at the time. Then I took a few fashion design courses and it changed the way I felt about it. It is not that my perspective is much different, but I realized how much I enjoyed designing clothing. I found out that I could go to a fashion design college, spend my life doing what I loved, and make a killing at the same time. Fashion design colleges just makes sense after that.

critical strategic creative thinking skills
Although science has recently shown us how malleable our minds are, popular culture hasn’t fully caught up. In particular, we think of thinking skills as set in stone. According to this mode of thought, we are either born with well working, highly functional brains, or else we’re born with dull ones that do not work very well. Although in school we try to train our critical thinking skills to function better, we often forget how much control he have over the working of our own minds. Few of us reach our full potential because learning tends to stop after school. Even when learning continues, we focus on learning facts but not on abstract thought processes themselves. When you become aware of the brain is a machine that can be tweaked to work better, however, the possibilities become endless. There is so much that we have the ability to do with our thinking skill.
