Your education can be more about what you learn in the books. We all go through school, and we’re all expected to learn what’s presented to us in the books, and through things like observations and experimentation. We learn a lot more than reading and math through, we learn about life and the people around us. There are so many life lessons to be learned and it’s not just our peers who affect who we might end up being in the future. The instructor and student relationship can nurture you, or can leave a scar on your soul.

Although science has recently shown us how malleable our minds are, popular culture hasn’t fully caught up. In particular, we think of thinking skills as set in stone. According to this mode of thought, we are either born with well working, highly functional brains, or else we’re born with dull ones that do not work very well. Although in school we try to train our critical thinking skills to function better, we often forget how much control he have over the working of our own minds. Few of us reach our full potential because learning tends to stop after school. Even when learning continues, we focus on learning facts but not on abstract thought processes themselves. When you become aware of the brain is a machine that can be tweaked to work better, however, the possibilities become endless. There is so much that we have the ability to do with our thinking skill.
