- New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA): They are responsible for registering and approving all courses and national qualifications offered at private training establishments and polytechnics.
- English Language Requirements: requires all students to be fluent in using the English lnguage if they are to succeed at any New Zealand Universities. To reach the required level of English language competence international students are being assisted by public and private institutions. To ensure approval, all students should take up IELTS or TOEFL as a requirement by the Immigration Services.
- New Zealand Vice-Chancellor Committee (NZVCC): The department responsible for approving all diplomas, graduate and undergraduate programs offered by New Zealand Universities.
- Private Training Providers (PTEs): The private training establishments provide a range of courses including English language proficiency, dance, religious studies, travel and tourism, and other vocational courses.
