Telecommuting is the name given to the kind of job where you are given the authority to choose where you will work from, and when the only means of communication you have with your boss is through the phone or via email. In fact, many governments encourage telecommuting employment since it reduces noise and air pollution. Thirdly, if you are employed in a telecommuting position, it does not necessarily have to be your only source of income. Many a times, people find themselves telecommuting jobs solely for the reasons of making cash. This could even be the second job, along with a regular 9 to 5 job. There are even those who juggle two or three telecommuting jobs at once. Despite all the benefits of telecommuting, it is noted that telecommuters sometimes suffer from feelings of isolation.
Finding telecommuting jobs is not hard. The most popularly used media to advertise these jobs is the internet and newspapers. Telecommuting jobs can be found in many fields including research, customer service, journalism, marketing and accounting. Telecommuting is best suited for computer programmers and writers. There are also jobs available in areas like data entry operation and as receptionists. Be careful to check if the company is genuine as there are many scams out there as well. Before signing a contract, make sure you find out as much as possible about the company.
