You might have heard of CLE, but are not sure of what it is or why it is important. It is not difficult to find the answers to everything you need to know on this subject. For a paralegal and, for that matter, anyone in the legal profession. Continuing Legal Education is indeed important! Whether or not you’re actually required to earn CLE credit on a regular basis due to such factors as it being a requirement for the job that you hold, mandatory where you reside, or based on a term of your certification, Continuing Legal Education should be considered essential for each paralegal, even when it isn’t required.

I don’t care what era or generation you come from, chances are you came across a bully. It’s almost like grade schools and high schools cannot be complete without at least one. Can you recall the bully you encountered back in the day? I sure can. At the young age of 13, I had just moved to a new area, and started in a new middle school. It took only a few days before some random 14 year old punched me. And I mean he literally socked me right in the jaw, while I was minding my own business, standing in the gym after lunch. I never even saw it coming. So, how do we prevent such occurrences from taking place? Maybe with a few lectures and bullying articles while we are still very young. It certainly pays to instruct our kids early on.

There are kindergarten instructors who are there because they love little children, and want to make a difference in young lives. These kindergarten teachers are wonderful. I had never even thought of such issues as teaching research before. For me, teaching seemed like a easy and straightforward affair. I had been explaining math to my younger brother for several years, and if I could help him out why couldn’t I help out a classroom full of students? What I learned in my teaching school both surprised and fascinated me. Teaching was much harder than I had thought, but it was also more rewarding for the work that I had to put into it. It wasn’t a simple matter of explaining the subject matter that I had mastered. If teaching was that simple, anyone could instruct! Instead, teaching involves the mastery of a great many strategies to help different students learn.

I know that it is important to keep your federal (or government given) personal data such as your social security number private. It has always bothered me that many student loan companies use your number as your account number. I always make sure I shred any paperwork with my number on it, but it would seem in some cases that this is out of my hands. My husband and I combined our loans, and we keep getting letters from companies offering us a superior deal on our interest rate. It bothers me that they have the ability to so easily get our student loan information, and that our social security numbers are appearing on what we consider to be junk mail.

Everyone thinks they’re special, everyone thinks they’ve certain skills that other people do not have. But like many of the especially bright people who surrounded me, I did not do very well in school. I just didn’t have the attention span for it, and my grades reflected that fact. I had always wanted to have a career in medicine, but I didn’t see how this was possible. There was just no way that I could make it through medical school.
